Policy Moratorium in Effect Due to Hurricane Milton
Published on: October 6, 2024As of the 1:00 p.m. update from the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Milton is within the 80 degrees west longitude and 20 degrees north latitude, requiring TWIA to put a policy moratorium in effect. This means that agents cannot quote and submit new business applications or policy changes that increase coverage on existing policies or renewals, until the General Manager determines that the coverage area is no longer threatened by the storm.
Because Hurricane Milton is not forecast to affect Texas, we expect to provide an Agent Bulletin update on the policy moratorium later today or tomorrow morning.
