Rate Filing Update and Hurricane Preparedness Message

TWIA Rate Filing
The Texas Department of Insurance will hold public meetings on TWIA’s rate filing in Galveston and Corpus Christi to hear feedback from stakeholders. As a reminder, TWIA’s Board of Directors voted on August 6 to file a rate increase of 10% for residential and commercial policies in its required annual filing with the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI).
The details for the public meetings are provided below. Members of the public can also submit written comments on TWIA’s rate filing at TWIARateComments@tdi.texas.gov. Written comments must be submitted by Oct. 1 at 5 p.m.

Hurricane Preparedness Message
As the peak of the Atlantic Hurricane Season approaches, we’ve sent policyholders information on checking their insurance coverage, preparing their property, and TWIA’s Policyholder Portal and claim reporting options. The email can be viewed here. Those with an active claim from Hurricane Beryl damage did not receive this message.
