Updating Factors for ABC Endorsement

We’re updating the factors for the Adjusted Building Cost (ABC) endorsement (TWIA-220) based on our annual review of building cost index data. The factors will be updated on April 1, 2024, and will apply to residential renewals effective on or after June 1, 2024.  

Key Points for Renewing Policyholders 

  • The ABC endorsement will increase policy Coverage A limits of liability by 12% to 13%. 
  • The endorsement is attached to all TWIA residential policies at issuance and increases coverage at renewal to reflect current construction costs. 
  • Limit increases due to this endorsement do not guarantee a property is adequately insured for its full replacement cost.   
  • Policyholders can reinstate the previous year’s limit by working with their agent, though this could impact replacement cost coverage eligibility.  
  • TWIA reviews ABC factors annually using data from an independent industry vendor.
